Description
A traditional Appalachian song and hoedown known by almost all old-time and bluegrass players, here adapted for Scottish-style pipes. Two versions are included on this PDF: the basic song melody (with first verse lyrics) and a breakdown/hoedown version for dances and sessions. The hoedown version was sourced from the playing of fiddler Henry Reed, via Alan Jabbour’s transcription at the Library of Congress. This setting is in the standard and pipe-friendly key of A-modal, with chord symbols.
