Description

A well-known carol appropriate for Christmas, Boxing Day (Dec. 26), and St. Stephen’s Day (also Dec. 26), arranged here in three-part harmony. The first verse of the lyrics are included, as well as chord symbols for accompanists. Some church hymnals use this melody for the hymn text ‘Gentle Mary Laid Her Child’. This version was sourced from The New Oxford Book of Carols and is set in the pipe-friendly key of D-Major.

This is one of over 100 carols printed in the collection, On This Day Earth Shall Ring.
