An anonymous 19th-century American song and dance tune familiar to almost all Americans, here adapted for Scottish-style pipes. Two versions are included on this PDF: the basic song melody (with first verse lyrics) and a fancier breakdown/hoedown version for dances and sessions. This setting is in the standard and pipe-friendly key of A-modal, with chord symbols for any accompanists. The hoedown version is swung ever-so-slightly and features grace-notes on the offbeats as a means of imitating Appalachian fiddling styles.
