Description
A stirring 6/8 melody by the late Breton piper Herri Leon, here set in E-modal for Scottish-style pipes, with an original harmony part by Timothy Cummings. This tune was sourced from Kornog’s Première (1984) album, via David Surette’s Fest Breizh printed collection (2006). It was recently recorded by Wheezer & Squeezer on track 5 of The Wind Among the Reeds album. The title translates to “The song [or tune] of the roast”, and was apparently written to be played for the presentation of the roast meat course at a celebration (perhaps the Breton equivalent to “piping in the haggis”?).
